30 May 1984 – Status Quo, Manchester Apollo

 

The following year Status Quo hit Manchester Apollo in the “End of the Road” Tour.  This was billed as their last tour….ever!  4 decades later Quo still existed and were still touring, even if only Francis Rossi remained from the 1984 line-up. Actually this is not right, as Andy Bown joined in 1981, mainly playing keyboards, but remained there and taking a much higher profile, often playing rhythm guitar and adding backing vocals. I do not have much photographic evidence of him in this particular gig though. Quo announced in 2024 they would no longer tour, but Francis Rossi did continue to perform in his solo "Tunes and Chat" shows.
